Roseanne and Grahame

For many builders our narrow block was was just too hard. Not so for the Cherry Building Company!

With Cherry, it’s Personal
Paul Cherry himself, along with his draftsman and foreman viewed the site. They talked about the direction our land faced, weather patterns and where the sun tracked through the sky.

Different Options
From that early meeting we felt confident. Paul Cherry was happy to discuss different options. His can do approach offered us freedoms, yet taught us practicality.

Our Design Ideas were Included
We were included in every design feature. An atrium for natural light and air flow. Lofted ceilings for a spacious feel. Larger windows positioned to create cross currents for those humid summer days. Bright and cheerful sunlit areas banished the idea of restricted corridors or dimly lit bedrooms.

Quality Structure
A retired builder nearby watched the framing grow, noting how Cherry Building ‘measured twice and cut once’. He called it quality workmanship with no shortcuts. They overcame a skinny piece of land with persistent drainage problems to deliver us a solid structure.

Respect is Earned
It seems Cherry’s reputation has been shared largely by word of mouth. He takes no risks. He pays attention to detail. People like that.

Generous Site Visits
Another surprise was ongoing access to the builder. A generous number of on-site visits were allowed. We always knew the current stage of construction.

After Build
People continue to look, point and some comment on how well they like our home. A few have even take photos. They confirm how Cherry offered us advantages and unexpected bonuses to achieved more than we ever dreamed.

In 50 years of marriage this is our fourth new build. But it’s the only one designed around climate patterns and land features! And it’s the only one to feel so sweeping and expansive!
